According to the actual results of exports of rubber products during FY2015 that have been summarized by The Japan Rubber Manufactures Association based on the trade statistics by the Ministry of Finance, the total amount of exports was 977,033,000,000 yen. This is 3.7% less than the same period of the previous year.
Amongst the main products, the amounts of gaskets slightly increased, but the total amount was below the result of the previous year due to the decrease of automotive tyres and tubes, rubber hoses and rubber belts.
The amount of exports in December only was 83,151,000,000 yen, which is 13.8% less than the same month of the previous year, and this resulted in a decrease for 5 months in a row. The fact that the amount of main products such as automotive tyres and tubes, gaskets, rubber hoses and rubber belts was lower than the previous year had affected to this decrease.
On the other hand, the total amount of imports in FY2015 was 428,922,000,000 yen, which was 7.6% more than the same period of the previous year.
Apart form the fact that the amount of automotive tyres and tubes was flat, and foam rubber products slightly decreased, the rest of the products showed increase. The amount of foot wears were in good shape, especially fabric shoes with rubber soles were 28.2% increase, and total foot wears were 20.0% increase as well. Except foot wears, import amounts of some products such as gaskets (4.1% increase), rubber hoses(5.5% increase) and rubber belts (4.2% increase), etc.. were significantly high.
Import amount of December only was 31,665,000,000 yen, which is 5.5% less than the same month in the previous year. This was the first increase after 2 months. The amount of foot wears was still in good shape but it was affected by the fact that the amount of some main products like automotive tyres and tubes (24.2% decrease) to begin with, gaskets, rubber hoses and athletic equipments, etc. were all lower than the previous year.
For each product, annual total amount for exports of rubber belts was 44,221,000,000 yen, which is 7.5% less than the same period of the previous year. Import was 10,679,000,000 yen, and this was 4.2% more than the same month in the previous year.
The amount for exports of rubber belts in December was 375,000,000 yen ,which is 25.6% less than the same month of the previous year, and this was decrease for 3 months in a row.
In addition to the fact that conveyor belts for resource-rich countries largely decreased, it was affected by the fact that the amount for the main export countries especially China had gone down.
Total annual export amount for rubber hoses was 44,953,000,000 yen, which is 1.2% decrease in comparison with the same period of the previous year. Import was 19,278,000,000 yen, and it was 5.5% more.
The amount of exports for rubber hoses in December was 3,932,000,000 yen, which was 7.1% less in comparison to the same month of the previous year, and this was a decrease for 5 months in a row.
Amongst the main exporting countries, exports for Indonesia and China were flat, and the amount for India increased, but the fact that the amount for the US decreased and for Thailand largely decreased had affected.
Import was 1,377,000,000 yen, which is 16.6% decrease and this was a decrease for 2 months in a row.
Annual total amount of automotive tyres and tubes was 634,781,000,000 yen, which is 5.6% less than the same period of the previous year. Import was 124,328,000,000 yen, and it was also flat.
The amount of exports for automotive tyres and tubes in December was 52,577,000,000 yen , which is 16.7% less than the same month of the previous year, and this was a decrease for 5 months in a row.
Amongst the main exporting countries, the amount for Australia increased, but total amount became minus due to the decrease of the amount for the US, Russia, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
Also the amount of import was 7,944,000,000 yen, which was 24.4% less, and this decrease was for 4 months in a row.
